Terms of Service
Effective date: 8 June 2026 Last updated: 8 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Lockday (“the service”, “the app”). By creating an account or using Lockday, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Lockday is an end-to-end encrypted task management application. Your task content is encrypted on your device before it is sent to our servers. Details of how we handle data are described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You create an account with a username and a password. No email address is required.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential. Because your data is end-to-end encrypted, certain account-recovery flows that depend on knowing your password are not possible. Losing your password may mean losing access to your encrypted data.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Lockday.
- One person, one account. You may not share your account credentials.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to store or transmit content that is illegal in your jurisdiction.
- Attempt to circumvent the security or encryption of the service, or to access accounts or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, including by overloading the server, scraping, or running automated abuse.
- Resell or commercially redistribute the service without permission.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the task content you create. Because we cannot read your encrypted content, we make no claim to it.
You grant us a limited license to store and transmit your encrypted content as necessary to provide the service (i.e., to synchronize it between your devices and to back it up).
5. Project collaboration
When you invite another user to a shared project, you grant that user access to the encrypted content of that project. You are responsible for who you invite and what you share. We do not moderate the content of shared projects.
6. Service availability
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee any specific level of uptime, reliability, or performance. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
The service is not a backup service. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important data.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the service. On termination, your encrypted data will be deleted from our servers in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the app. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through the app (Settings → Send feedback).
